P.S. I just saw the Lovely Bones, and for those of you who wanted to read it, the movie was just as unsatisfying as the book, at least in my opinion. But, the theatrical and dramatic effects were brilliant, and really made the story and Susie's perception of heaven real and mystical. So I would check it out if I were you :]

No time for recreational reading until May...
Winter break is over. Done. And now, the spring semester has fully begun, ready to overwhelm me with a whirlwind of reading, essays, projects along with club meetings and work. I barely have time to have a social life, let alone read for fun. So, it is necessary, and unfortunate, that I must take a hiatus, a vacation if you will, that is so not like a vacation, from recreational reading. Instead, I will be exploring the minds of Shakespeare, Sci Fi writers, and American Lit authors. About three books a week is about all the reading I can handle, and I love to read. So, it is time to say goodbye to late night mysteries and traumatic tearjerkers, and focus on the work of the Bard. I will attempt to update the blog world of my current academic reading, but as my workload is quite heavy, I am not promising anything. Which is fine, since I know only about four people are reading this, and that is quite okay.

Karissa- I always read your blog--so make that 5! :) I enjoy reading your reviews and plan on reading Dear John and some of your other reviewees soon. :) You are right though- it is way harder to read when you are back in school. Luckily I don't have to read a lot for my classes so I read a fun book at night before I fall asleep usually or when I can steal a few minutes away. It takes me about 5x as long to finish it but at least I read for fun! :)

What are you reading by the bard? I actuallly enjoy him- thought I would hate him when I had to take Shakespeare my 12th grade year of high school for my entire year of english class. But I found that I really like him, especially if I get the versions with the side by side easier text next to the old text--I used the Sparknotes Books sold at Barnes and Noble called NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE. I just looked them up and you can actually read them online or download them too. They are quite helpful and made me enjoy Shakespeare more. :)

aw emily, I am glad that I have one more reader :] You are luckily that you get to read for fun. Once school gets out, I will start reading obsessively again. We are reading SO much Shakespeare. It is about a play or two a week, so crazy. I don't have my list by me right now, but if you do want it, I can definitely type it up for you. And I have used No Fear Shakespeare before, but I am reading them without it for this class. I want to absorb the language without an aid and see how it goes :] Being an English major is just so much fun. Talk to you soon!
oh Karissa, this is sad times. but I know what you mean, there isn't really time for other stuff. even though I read Dear John in a day last weekend, haha. and now I'll probably read Last Song this weekend. even though I shouldn't. oh well. I'm sure you'll figure everything out :)

Fourth grade...hmm. I would have to say all of the Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Did you ever read those?
